What Training Do Senior Master Technicians Do?
In order to become a Ford Senior Master Technician, our employees must have a tenure of more than five years as a technician and complete all three Master Technician specialty course plans. By learning about everything from brakes to electrical systems, we can ensure that our team is ready to tackle big jobs like transmission replacements, engine repairs, and upfit installation for our commercial vehicle clients.
Ford Masters Program
Currently, the Ford Masters Program features four specialty groups and three categories, all requiring completion to earn the Senior Master Technician distinction. Master Technician paths and their unique courses include:
- Engine Master Technician — Specializes in Gasoline or Diesel engines, with courses on Performance and Diagnostics, Repairs, and Operations.
- Drivetrain Master Technician — Focuses on propulsion with courses on Manual Transmissions, Automatic Transmissions, and Drivetrains.
- Chassis Master Technician — Prioritizes vehicle handling and safety in areas such as Steering and Suspension, Climate Control, and Brakes.
